For those who don’t know, these readings are from the book, Voices of a People’s History of the United States, a companion volume to Howard Zinn’s classic, A People’s History of the United States of America. The former contains the original speeches, letters, poems, songs, and documents that served as source material for the latter. Voices has now become an organization, and helps to organize readings of this material all over the country. (Full disclosure: I’m on the Voices Board.)
